The recognition of the Greek island by the USA confirms the high position it holds worldwide
Greece and Santorini again stood out at this year’s “Global Traveler” awards of FXExpress 2020, which took place through an online event on December 14, and won three new awards.

Specifically, Greece emerged for the first time as a favorite tourist destination internationally, by the readers of the online magazine trazeetravel and took second place in the category “Best Wedding Destination” after Tahiti and before the Cook Islands.

In the same event, Santorini was distinguished for the 7th time in a row as the best island in Europe and won the title “Best Island in Europe” of the “Leisure Lifestyle Awards”.

As announced by the organizing company, the results of the competition will be published in the December issue of “Global Traveler” and will be posted on the following websites: globaltravelerusa.com, trazeetravel.com and webfamily.com.

The American newspaper “U.S. News” listed Santorini island 1st among the 16 most beautiful islands in the world.

The two Greek islands competed with amazing and extremely popular islands such as the exotic Fiji and Maldives islands, managing to rank in very good places.

According to the newspaper, in order for an island to be considered as one of the best besides having beautiful beaches and a breathtaking scenery, it must also have a magical spark to keep the visitors fascinated and enchanted forever.
